CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES

February 13, 2007

 The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours with Trustee Butler, Trustee Branham, Trustee Sullivan, Chief Schumer, Assistant Chief Osborne and Paramedic Edie present.

Trustee Butler made a motion to pay bills as shown on ledger. Motion seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passes by unanimous aye vote.  

Chief Schumer is working on Spiller Ordinance, will be completed for approval at March Board meeting. Board will present to Attorney Holley for approval.

Chief Schumer has finished the small equipment grant and has asked District to review and approve for submission. Chief Schumer stated that the three probation members have met all requirements. February 20th is final day of probation. Motion made by Trustee Butler to place all probationary members on full time firefighter/ paramedic status effective February 20, 2007. Seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed by unanimous aye vote. Pay will also be increased to $35,000.00 effective February 20th, 2007. Fourth member Richard Brockmeyer will come off probation on June 5th, 2007.

 Trustee Branham made a motion to give Chief Schumer the authority to suspend or terminate personnel that have not met minimum requirements as stated in letters that were sent to personal, seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote.

Chief Schumer discussed the possibility of providing intercept for ambulance services to the south. PALS providers training- Trustee Butler made a motion to purchase PALS training equipment for $517.75. Trustee Branham seconded motion. Chief Schumer presented a letter on ISO inspection, he will advise of dates. Chief Schumer will start on the OSFM Training Reimbursement for training dollars. Chief Schumer showed that meetings are published in the Chatham Village Voice. He also was invited to the Chamber of commerce meeting; Mike Williamson presented a 2007 Transportation plan and Comprehensive plan. 

Assistant Chief Osborne stated that SCB bottles went in to AEC. 19 bottles went in at $15 each and will be finished on Friday.

 OSFM grant will need to be reviewed and signed by District. $2,280.00 left from grant for air system, Assistant Chief Osborne presented prices for carts and racks for air system. Spare tire for ambulance needs to be replaced. District has approved its replacement. 

Meeting with the union on the 15th at 1800 hours, meeting will be closed.

 Meeting adjourned at 2025 hours.
