CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

February 12, 2008

 The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours, Trustee Butler, Trustee Sullivan, Trustee Branham, Captain Bell, Firefighters Joe Bolletta, Jimmie Gerberding, and John Edie.

 Trustee Sullivan made a motion to pay bills as shown. Trustee Butler seconded the motion; motion passed with a unanimous aye vote.

 Old Business- Trustee Branham stated that the sign for abandoned Babies had arrived. The sign will be placed on building and SOP/SOG will need to be written for procedures dealing with any babies brought to the station.

 New Business- Trustee Branham dropped off information to Grady Holley for purchase contract of Currie property.

 Board of Fire Commissioner- No update.

 Pension Board- Signature page has been given to Trustee Butler for his signature.

 John Edie presented information on ventilation training. Trustee Butler made a motion to purchase materials. Motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Chief Schumer arrived at 1900hours. 

Chief Schumer- Chief Schumer presented a copy of the final list of items for Engine 3. The District is still trying to sell the squad. Ebay will cost $40 to list and $50 for reserve. Pictures are $2 for a 10-day listing. The reserve will be $28,000.00 and it will be listed for 21 days starting on February 15th.  Trustee Butler made a motion to go ahead with ebay listing. The motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Equipment for Engine 3, in the amount of $38,738.00, has been ordered. The Trustees discussed whether to make Engine 3 a medical unit. In order for Engine 3 to be considered an ILS rig it would need a defibulator at the cost of  $9,800.00. The District decided to table the issue until the March meeting. Chief Schumer attended training for OSFM portal. We will be doing a test trial on a common database for electronic submittal of OSFM training, testing, ect. Tamma Ryan would like to dedicate to the Fire Department in memory of her parents. Riverton’s Fire Chief, Louie Rogers, contacted Chief Schumer about their departments billing. Chief Rogers would like Chatham Fire to do their billing. The District will help with information but does not want to get involved with their billing.

 District Trustees went into Executive session at 2005 hours for personnel issues.

District Trustees came out of executive session at 2130 hours and open session resumed.

 SOG 3005.37 was reviewed by the Trustees and can move forward with impementation.

 Trustee Sullivan made a motion to sign contract for temporary employment for Robert Bose. Motion was seconded by Trustee Branham and passed with a unanimous aye vote.

 Trustee Branham made motion to send Dawn Sanchez to Exceptional Assistant Seminar. Motion was seconded by Trustee Butler and passed with a unanimous aye vote. 

Trustees approved Chief Schumer and Assistant Chief Osborne to go to the MABAS conference for a couple of days at the end of February.

 Meeting was adjourned to 2146 hours.
