CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES
August 14, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours with Trustee Butler, Trustee Sullivan, Trustee Branham, Chief Schumer, Firefighter Kissel, Firefighter Bucci, and Firefighter Gerberding present.
Trustee Butler made a motion to pay bills as shown on ledger. Motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed by unanimous aye vote.
Trustee Butler presented bill for new ambulance from Horton; final bill is $113,109.00. Trustee Branham made a motion to pay final bill after all issues are resolved. Motion was seconded by Trustee Butler and passed with a unanimous aye vote.
Trustee Butler presented proposed budget that will be published August 30th in the Chatham Clarion. Mr. Dwight Elliot donated $50.00 to Fire Prevention Fund to help for services rendered during medical emergency. Firefighter Bucci presented information for Explorer Post 1928, first meeting is scheduled for September 5th at 1830 hours. Funds were approved to have refreshments available. A drawing of proposed shirts was also presented. They will order one of each size for fitting.
Matt Helm presented information on the IEMA site plan for the Lincoln Land FS, Inc. Lick Plant.
Chief Schumer and EMS Coordinator Baker are ordering equipment for the new ambulance. It will be approximately $3700.00 for all equipment. Motion made by Trustee Butler to purchase equipment, motion was seconded by Trustee Branham and passed with unanimous aye vote. Chief Schumer and Captain Rose will attend a IPRF class, Assistant Chief Osborne has already attended. Fire Prevention banner and package will cost $125.00. Trustee Branham made a motion to make purchase; motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed by unanimous aye vote.
Chief Schumer presented information for the Fire Com system for Engine 1; system cost is $2979.37. Trustee Sullivan made a motion to purchase; the motion was seconded by Trustee Branham and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Trustee Butler made a motion to purchase a motor for Engine 4; motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Firefighter Zack Krueger is creating a MSDS system for the fire station to comply with the “Right to Know” act.
Trustee Sullivan made a motion to go to executive session for personnel matters; motion was seconded by Trustee Branham and passed with a unanimous aye vote.
Executive session ended at 2055 and the CFPD Board meeting resumed.
Trustee Butler hade a motion to remove Firefighter John Bucci from probationary status; motion was seconded by Trustee Branham and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Trustee Branham made a motion to bring Jason Rauch and William Brockway on a volunteers; motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Trustee Sullivan made a motion to reimburse $216.00 tuition to Firefighter Ryan Bramley for Instructor I class; motion was seconded Trustee Butler and passed with a unanimous aye vote.
