MINUTES CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTNovember 13, 2007The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours, Trustee Butler, Trustee Sullivan, Trustee Branham, Chief Schumer, Assistant Chief Osborne, Firefighter Kissel, Firefighter Rogers, Firefighter Bramley, Lieutenants Hoskinson and Wood were present. Minutes from October and special meeting from November 3rd were approved as read. Trustee Sullivan made a motion to accept the minutes from both meetings. Trustee Butler seconded the motion; motion was passed be unanimous aye vote. Trustee Butler made a motion to pay bills as shown. Trustee Sullivan seconded the motion; motion passed with a unanimous aye vote. Old Business- Crossroads bill-Trustee Branham will draft a letter to Crossroads; Crossroads repairs should be covered by warranty. Board of Fire Commissioner- December 12th, the board will meet to review applications and December 19th will be a follow up meeting on applications. Pension Board- Zack Krueger will be paid his pension monies when it is requested. The Pension board will hold their next meeting on December 3, 2007 at 1800 hours. Chief Schumer- Advisory meeting LLCC, committee meeting is 11/14/2007 at 1000 hours. Firefighter Gorbett completed grant to State Farm for fire extinguisher training grant. Grant max is $5,000.00, and $200.00 was given by Steve Bedford. The training system is $12,400.00. Trustee Branham made a motion to purchase the system; Trustee Sullivan seconded motion, with an $8,200.00 maximum. Motion was passed with a unanimous aye vote. Chief Schumer presented a copy of the annual TIF report. The fire station will be holding a blood drive on December 19th from 1500 hrs to 1830 hrs. SCBA mask needs repaired. It will cost $95.00 plus freight to repair; a new one will cost $185.00. Trustee Butler made a motion to purchase what is needed and to stay under $500.00. Motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Two extinguishers failed test. It will cost $135.00 for one bracket and two extinguishers; Alexis has the lowest price. Trustee Sullivan made a motion to purchase brackets/extinguishers and was seconded by Trustee Branham. The motion was passed by a unanimous aye vote. Chief Schumer presented a quote on Genesis system; quote was for $17,885.00 plus $500.00 to convert existing system. New Berlin asked what we were asking for Holmatro; no reply after we stated that we were asking $7,000.00. We still have no response on Rescue Truck advertisement. We have a Zoll monitor that needs repaired. Service contract is $3,000.00 for four units. Trustees all agreed to send the unit in for repairs, no on service contract. Assistant Chief Osborne- FAE class is going great and Eric Helms is also doing a great job; Assistant Chief Osborne thinks a letter should be sent in to Springfield Fire Department. Trustee Sullivan made a motion to adjourn to executive session for personnel issues. Trustee Branham seconded the motion and it was passed with a unanimous aye vote. Executive session started at 1945 and was ended at 2110 hours. Trustee Branham made a motion to accept Chief Schumer’s recommendation that Lt. Hoskinson may live out of District for up to six months. Motion was seconded by Trustee Butler and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Committee discussed a back up camera in the ambulance and an equipment request form has been submitted. Two paramedics were asked and they felt that a mirror was sufficient. The District Trustees feels that a patient area camera is not needed as decided by the original committee.
