CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
Special Meeting
June 5, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 1530 hours, Trustee Butler, Trustee Hughes, Trustee Sullivan, Firefighter Chuck Baker were present.
New Business- Trustee Sullivan announced his resignation as President due to health reasons. His resignation is effective June 30, 2008. His letter of resignation will soon be
sent in to Andy Van Meter at the Sangamon County Board.
Mike Branham was not reappointed to the Board. The Sangamon County Board has appointed Jerry Hughes in his place. Trustee Butler will no longer be the District Treasurer; he would like Trustee Hughes to take this position. Trustees Butler and Hughes will go to United Community Bank and to the Bank and Trust to add Trustee Hughes to all accounts and to remove Mr. Branham. Trustee Hughes will then be authorized to sign checks and other official documents. Trustee Sullivan will be removed from all accounts as of his resignation date, June 30, 2008. Trustee Butler explained to Trustee Hughes that the District has two attorneys. Grady Holley, who takes care of the budget after the Trustees submit it to him and Claire Manning, who takes care of the personnel side of business. The fiscal year starts June 1st and runs through May 31st. The Trustees will wait till after Trustee Sullivan’s replacement is in place before deciding on the Secretary and the President positions. Trustee Hughes also plans to remain on the Department as a firefighter.
