CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTESMarch 13, 2007The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours with Trustee Butler, Trustee Branham, Trustee Sullivan, Chief Schumer, Dawn Sanchez, Scott Snider, Captain Rose, Firefighters Kissel, Bolletta, and Edie. Mike Binker with Banner Fire presented specs for new E-One Engine. Specs are missing a few points, specs were discussed and changes will be made and addendum will be sent. Trustee Sullivan made a motion to pay bills as shown on ledger. Motion seconded by Trustee Butler and passes by unanimous aye vote. Old Business- No old business New Business- Office manager, Dawn Sanchez discussed National Provider Identification number (NPI). She has obtained our new number and will be providing it to the insurance companies. Pension Board update- Pension board has asked the District to pay $261,942.00 into the fund. Motion was made by Trustee Butler to pay $261,942.00 to the pension fund and pay $113,860.00 on May 31st, 2007. Motion was seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed with a unanimous aye vote. Pension Board thanked the District for reconciling pension fund. Chief’s Business- Trustee Butler asked if the vehicle locator would be under the 2007 AFG Grant. Chief Schumer presented a proposal for voice amplifiers for SCBA masks, ten at a cost of $285 each. A motion was made by Trustee Branham to purchase ten amplifiers not to exceed $285 each. Motion was seconded by Trustee Butler and passed with a unanimous aye vote. EMS coordinator presented need for extra batteries for defibrillator. Also needed are a conditioner charger and 3 batteries costing $1356.00. Motion was made by Trustee Sullivan to make purchases. Motion was seconded by Trustee Butler and was passed with a unanimous aye vote. EMS week- $10/per person, $350.00 total for EMS week. Trustee Sullivan made a motion, seconded by Trustee Branham. Motion passed with a unanimous aye vote. Chief Schumer had questions about Fire Training Coordinator. There are four people interested. Person needs to be an instructor II. The class is $300.00; it is two weekends back to back. Chief Schumer will ask four people to present reasons for wanting to take the class.
