CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES

April 10, 2007

 The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours with Trustee Butler, Trustee Branham, Trustee Sullivan, Chief Schumer, Firefighters Rogers, Hoskinson, Bolletta, and Lt. Wood were present.

 Russ Campbell with KME presented specs on a new Predator Rescue Pumper. 

Trustee Branham made a motion to pay bills as shown on ledger, motion seconded by Trustee Sullivan. Motion passed by unanimous aye vote. 

Old Business- Spiller ordinance

Trustee Butler made a motion to adopt Ordinance 07-01, seconded by Trustee Sullivan. Motion was passed by unanimous aye vote. 

New Business-

Board voted by unanimous aye vote to close for a private session for discussion on personnel issues.

 Pension Board-

Ken Kissel stated that the Pension Board has tabled Assistant Osborne’s pension proposal. He also has a bill for the Cameron, Smith survey. Assistant Osborne resigned from the Pension Board.

No other business before the Board. 

Chief Schumer presented on behalf of Firefighter John Bucci, cost for Explorer post- $48.00. Trustee Butler made a motion to pay, seconded by Trustee Sullivan. Motion was passed by unanimous aye vote.

 Closed session for personnel issues at 2030 hours, back in session at 2050 hours.

 Motion made for Chief Schumer to perform background investigation for Tadd Schroeder, for a position as a part-time/volunteer member. Motion was made by Trustee Sullivan and seconded by Trustee Butler. Motion was passed by unanimous aye vote. Chief Schumer recommended Mark Cunningham be taken off suspension. Motion was made by Trustee Butler and seconded by Trustee Sullivan. Motion was passed. Tom Burke has not fulfilled his firefighter requirements. Chief Schumer recommended that Mr. Burke be released from service. Motion was made by Trustee Butler and seconded by Trustee Branham. Motion was passed.  

Trustee Branham made a motion that the District reimburse Firefighter Bob Bose $285.17 for books and pants for him EMT-P class. Trustee Sullivan seconded motion. Motion was passed by unanimous aye vote.

 Chief’s Business-

Illinois Fire and Police Commission has a seminar at Crowne Plaza May 4,5, and 6th. Bill from Zoll for battery and chargers was $1400.00, previously approved. It is recommended that Chief Schumer attend the Illinois Public Risk Fund Training Seminar Level 1. He will look at the August seminar. Web site costs are $285 per year the cost was approved.
