CHATHAM FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES

May 8, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 1830 hours with Trustee Butler, Trustee Branham, Trustee Sullivan, Chief Schumer, and Assistant Chief Osborne present.

Battalion Three presented Rosenbauer truck specs. Donna Siders presented insurance renewal for VFIS. She presented bond information for Pension Board and Fire District. She also presented information on claims for School District and Accident & Sickness. Fidelity Bond will be increased to $30,000 for all trustees.

Trustee Branham made a motion to pay bills as shown on ledger. Motion was seconded by Trustee Butler and passed by unanimous aye vote.

Old Business- IPRF grant for $2500 was received. First round of the Fire Prevention Safety Grants were awarded, we were not included in this round.

New Business-The overhead doors (Wayne Dalton) need to be looked at for engineering problems. SEIU Local 73 has sent FOIA inquiry. This was forwarded to Council Claire Manning for response.

Pension Board-Account balance $554,064.79

Chief Schumer-TIF Fund request has to be presented by July1st. SCFC meeting will be May 21^st in Divernon. Mobile Team Committee for implementation of MDC starts 1^st of June. Connection fee for MDC thru county will be $100 a month. Contract for copier will be up May 31^st, increase will be 10%, Trustees agreed to renew contract. ACLS class will be June 2^nd and 3^rd. and PALS will be held July 7^th and 8^th. Hydrant testing is June 4^th – September 30^th. Open House is scheduled for October 6^th. Approved $2500.00 for Fire Prevention supplies. Motion was made by Trustee Butler, seconded by Trustee Sullivan and passed by unanimous aye vote. ISO will be here June 11th, 12th and 13^th to review department. Paramedic Brockmeyer is working on design for department ID’s. Joe Bolletta and Charles Baker have been invited to attend a PHTLS Instructor Class. Trustee Butler made a motion to pay $150 for them to attend class, seconded by Trustee Branham and passed by unanimous aye vote. There will be an Instructor 1 class in June, 3 or 4 people have shown interest.

Trustee Sullivan made a motion to go to executive session at 2150 hours to discuss personnel issues.

Board reconvened at 2225 hours after personnel meeting.

Vote to allow Chief Schumer to bring on Tadd Schroeder if ISP background check is ok. Motion made by Trustee Butler and seconded by Trustee Sullivan. Motion passed by unanimous aye vote.

Union meeting with mediator will be Monday May 21^st; this will be a closed meeting.
