




The Chatham Community Fire Protection District serves the citizens of its District through a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees for the Chatham Community Fire Protection District is made up of three (3) residents of the District who are appointed by the Sangamon County Board. Once appointed the trustees of the district vote on a President, Secretary and a Treasurer. All administrative duties such as the District's Budget, S.O.P's and S.O.G's are carried out by these Trustees monthly. The Board of Trustees also have the responsibility of appointing a Chief of the department as well as approving all applications for volunteer membership. The Chatham Community Fire Protection District Board of Trustees Conducts all District business on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at the Fire Station at 5:30 PM. The Chatham Community Fire Protection District has a Board of Fire Commissioners. The Fire Commissioners are responsible for the hiring and for disciplinary actions of the full time staff. The Board of Fire Commissioners meetings are also open to the public.
The Chatham Fire Protection District currently has 7 staff officers. The Officers are made up of a Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Division Chief, two Captains, and three Lieutenants. The Captain and Lieutenant positions are made up of both volunteer and paid positions.
